Buddy Alleva
Owner
Buddy Alleva, President and Founder of Numismatics Unlimited, Inc., has more than 47 years’ experience in the numismatic industry. During that time, he has been a major wholesaler in the industry traveling throughout the United States attending national and local conventions. He has also attended auctions for both client representation and the purchasing of rare coins for resale. His knowledge when dealing with the purchasing and selling of rare coins and currency is well respected within the industry.
In 1984 he joined National Coin Investments, a major coin company with offices established in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. By September of 1987, he was made a full and equal partner with the firm until 1990 when he established on his own Numismatics Unlimited, Inc. Through these years he has handled hundreds of millions of dollars in rare coins and worked with numerous renowned dealers and collectors in handling some of the finest numismatic rarities known.
In 1989 Buddy became a member of the prestigious Professional Numismatist Guild #441. He served on their binding arbitration board and is active within the organization presently. From 1999-2023, he has been a contributor to A Guide Book of United States Coins, the Official Red Book.
From 2007 – 2015, he served as the sole appraiser for the “Old Westbury Real Return Fund” a 50 million dollar Rare Coin Fund Portfolio, managed by Bessemer Trust, a well-regarded Wall Street firm, Providing quarterly reports & interacting with outside auditors from Ernst & Young.
In 2017 he was an inaugural member of the anti-counterfeiting task force that was established by the Professional Numismatist Guild. In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious Sol Kaplan award for his efforts and contributions in combating crimes against Numismatic Community.
He is presently a member of the following organizations: American Numismatic Association (1974-Present), Massapequa Coin Club (1974-Present), Central States Numismatic Association (1984-Present), Florida United Numismatics (1984-Present), National Coin & Bullion Association (1988-Present).
Cody Consul has over a decade of experience within the Numismatic and Precious Metals industry. His professional journey began in 2013 as an intern at Numismatics Unlimited, Inc., where he quickly transitioned to a full-time role in 2014 following the completion of his Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics at SUNY Cortland. Beginning with responsibilities in inventory management and ensuring compliance with industry standards, Cody’s career has evolved significantly under the mentorship of Buddy Alleva. Presently, he spearheads all Precious Metals trading activities for the firm, contributing to risk management and conducting thorough analyses of market conditions. Cody assumes a central role in day-to-day operations, encompassing order fulfillment and client support for investments and liquidations. A key contributor to the growth of the company, Cody actively manages client relationships and fosters new connections with dealers, trading houses, investors, and collectors. His collaborative approach emphasizes trust and transparency, with a focus on building enduring relationships. Over the years, Cody has orchestrated transactions involving hundreds of millions of dollars in precious metals at both wholesale and retail levels.
